Sexual Harassment Prevention

HE SAID/THEY SAID/WE MEANT examines how individual actions shape a workplace culture that stands against sexual harassment. Professional actors portray subtle tensions related to professional and personal boundaries, intimacy, and power, with a focus on boundary violations. Scenarios depict dynamics in a variety of academic settings and are followed by a facilitated dialogue that engages attendees in an open dialogue about the ways that identity influences judgment and perceptions about what is or isn’t appropriate in the unique work environment of a university. This session avoids common didactic traps related to sexual harassment prevention trainings by presenting realistic, character-driven, subtle vignettes.
The dialogue invites attendees to reflect on their own professional judgment and decision-making in moments that may feel unclear or uncomfortable, particularly within the context of Title IX expectations and institutional policy.
